About The Winery
In the early 1990's, Bordeaux luminaries Bruno Prats (Chateau Cos d'Estournel) and Paul Pontallier (Chateau Margaux) discovered the high calibre of cabernet sauvignon from Chile's Alto Maipo region. Together with Felipe de Solminihac, a well-known Chilean agronomist, oenologist and winemaker in the country, they acquired 45 acres in 'Quebrada de Macul', the historical heart of Maipo valley vineyards, where Vina Aquitana was born. Since January 2003, Ghislain de Montgolfier (CEO of Bollinger Champagne), became the fourth partner.
