Lievland Bushvine Pinotage
Lievland Vineyards' Pinotage Bushvine is made from pinotage grapes sourced from vineyards in the Paarl region (supplemented with a very small percentage of cinsault and syrah). After harvesting, the grapes are immediately destemmed and crushed in the vinification cellar, after which they are allowed to soak for 2 days in the refrigerator. The must then undergoes temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After about 2 weeks, the pressing follows and the young wine is transferred to partly French and partly American used oak barriques. After 12 months of aging, the wine is assembled, clarified, filtered and bottled.
The Pinotage Bushvine from Lievland Vineyards has a deep ruby red color in the glass. In the nose aromas of red berries, raspberries and spices. In the taste palette notes of ripe small black-red fruit, rhubarb and vanilla, accompanied by an aftertaste with soft tannins and mildly fresh acidity.
