About The Wine
Second Wine of Chateau Lynch- Moussas
The Haut-Médoc is home to Bordeaux’s most prestigious communes: Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Julien, and Saint-Estèphe. Chateau Lynch-Moussas produced this wine from younger Cabernet and Merlot vines than the top wine, and from different plots, but with a definite Pauillac character.
About The Winery
The LYNCH MOUSSAS estate was owned since the 18th century by the Comte LYNCH in Pauillac, then was divised in two parts: LYNCH MOUSSAS and LYNCH BAGES. The building was kept by LYNCH MOUSSAS , as well as most of lands and vineyards. This great estate from more than two hundred acres was classified as a Classed Growth by the1855 classification.
Reviews
A fresh, refined red with chocolate, walnut and hazelnut character. Medium body. Creamy tannins. Extremely well done. A blend of 62% cabernet sauvignon and 38% merlot. Second wine of Chateau Lynch-Moussas. Why wait? ~92 James Suckling.
The 2017 Les Haut de Lynch-Moussas was cropped at 51hl/ha. It has an agreeable bouquet, adequate red cherry and cranberry fruit, nicely defined and integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite supple in the mouth with black tea and a touch of charcoal infusing the tender finish. Enjoy this over three to five years. ~86-88, Vinous Media
Composed of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon and 44% Merlot, the 2017 Les Hauts de Lynch Moussas is medium garnet-purple in color with a pronounced black and red currants nose with hints of pencil lead, cigar box and potpourri. The palate is medium-bodied with a chewy frame and plenty of lift on the earthy finish. ~86-88, Wine Advocate
